Athlete Academy Success Stories: Andrew Levinson

Next up in our Athlete Academy Success Stories, focussing on the journeys of some of The Athlete Academy Alumni, is up and coming Scotland & Great Britain cyclist, Andrew Levinson!

Andrew joined us while she was still a student at George Watsons College and cycling locally for Edinburgh Road Club. He was highly focussed on his cycling and joined the Athlete Academy to work on improving his strength and power to boost his performance on the bike. Andrew joined our Group Coaching Program attending two sessions per week.

It didn’t take long before Andrew consistency say him get 50 sessions under his belt and he joined The 50 Club in March 2024.

When he was at The Athlete Academy, Andrew benefitted from a lot of exercises that helped improve his power and during his 2nd year as an Under 14 rider this really showed, with lots of results in the British circuit series races such as a 3rd at Hog Hill National, 4th at the Loughborough Cycling Festival National, 2nd on General Classification at the British National Round 5 in Scotland, winning a stage and coming second in another stage. Andrew also had success on the track with a clean sweep of Scottish titles on the track as well as defending his Scottish Circuit Champs Title for the second year in a row!

In November of 2024, Andrew was the 19th athlete to reach 100 sessions and become an Athlete Academy Centurion!

Since moving on from the Athlete Academy, Andrew has ridden to a British National Points Championship, won on his first trip over to Belgium won round 1 of the National Youth Omnium series, all in his first year as an under 16 rider!

Andrew represented Scotland later on in the year at the interregional games, where the team rode to a 3rd Place Overall. Just after this, Andrew was also selected for the Great Britain National School of Racing in October of 2025.

In 2026, Andrew won a stage of the British Circuit Series Round 1 in Wales, as well as a 3rd in Stage 3 and 2nd on General Classification. He also came 2nd on two stages of the Youth Tour of Scotland, and enjoyed success on the track, taking his first junior title in the Junior Men’s Points racE, in which he gained a lap on the field, racing up a category!

Alongside this, Andrew also took another clean sweep in the U16 category, winning the Individual Pursuit, Scratch Race, and Points race, lapping the field 5 times!

Here’s what Andrew had to say “Once again thank you for all the support during my time at The Athlete Academy, I owe a huge amount of my success down to the Strength training I did whilst with you guys, and have developed so much mentally too!”

We can’t wait to see what other achievements Andrew unlocks in the coming months and years and will continue to keep tabs on his success!
